Tulum

Chitzen Itza
The most well known of the Mayan Ruins in the Yucatan, are Chitzen Itza. Plan a full day to drive here and to explore. This city is home to the beautifully preserved pyramid of Kulkulcan, the Observatory, their huge ball courts and the sacred sinkhole where human sacrifices were made. This is about a 2 hour drive each way and would be a great time to stop off in the historic city of Valladolid to walk around the town square, explore its many shops and eat in one of its many wonderful restaurants.
